How does coaching work?

When you choose my coaching sessions, I encourage you to take the time to examine your strengths and challenge yourself to achieve your goals. I will support you throughout our time together and empower you to make positive changes, and overcome any professional or personal obstacles you are facing. As we work together to create a clear set of actions allowing you to create effective and lasting changes in your career and personal life. As an accredited DISC personality system administrator we can work with this tool as part of your coaching journey to help you understand much more about your preferred styles of communicating and what motivates you and recognising how to adapt your style to work more effectively with others.

   what is disc?

Disc is a Personality System which centres on four different behavioural traits. DISC has many positive benefits when used as part of individual and group coaching session, team building,
and leadership development.

Adding a DISC assessment to your coaching package will provide you with a lot more information about your preferred style of communicating and behaving. Enabling your team to understand not only their own preferences, but how they impact on others can be a powerful facilitator to help your team grow and thrive.

how will i know if coaching is right for me?

Anyone who wishes to achieve their full potential can benefit from coaching. However, coaching may be more beneficial for you if you find it helpful to have support from an external resource to help motivate and inspire you. If you find yourself saying “yes” to any of the following questions:

  • Do You Feel Unfulfilled, or Think You Aren’t Reaching Your Full Potential?

  • Is There a Gap between Where You Are Now and Where You Want to Be?

  • Are You Ready to Entertain New and Fresh Ideas?

  • Are You Willing to Be Accountable for What You Want to Achieve?

If you find yourself saying "yes" to any of the questions above, contact me today to book your free discovery session. We will be able to discuss what you want to change, and clarify what you expect from a coaching relationship. More importantly, you will be able to decide whether I’m the sort of coach you might want to work with, while I assess how I might assist you with your needs.

Will My Employer Support My Coaching?

Increasingly, organisations are recognising the role that coaching can play in developing more effective and fulfilled employees. Whether it’s one-to-one or group coaching, I aim to help clients move towards their goals or objectives in a structured, cohesive, and effective manner. If you or your employer recognise the value of investing in staff wellbeing and development in a lasting and impactful way, all you need to do is ask about my individual and team corporate coaching sessions.

How long will coaching last?

Everyone has different needs, so it depends entirely on how long it takes for you to get moving and establish a sense of direction. Whether you want 4 or 6 sessions, or you’re looking for a longer-term coaching relationship, I have a few different packages for you to choose from. Additional sessions can be arranged at any point.

Holding you to account for the things you have agreed to do is part of my job. You choose your goals and actions, and you are paying me to help you get there. Appreciating that you may face distractions and obstacles along the way, I offer a non-judgemental coaching environment. We are all overambitious at times and life can frequently disrupt our plans, however if you have not met your agreed actions by the time of your next appointment, this is an excellent opportunity to learn and re-evaluate your plans.

While there are advantages in meeting together at an agreed location for at least some sessions, geographical separation and the pressures of other commitments mean that this is frequently not possible. In such circumstances, I will generally conduct a session via Skype, Zoom, or telephone. Face-to-face meetings are possible in Canterbury, Whitstable, and surrounding areas.

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are a useful way to get started. This allows for issues to be progressed with sufficient intervals between each discussion for reflection and action, and without loss of momentum. But once the coaching relationship is established, you may wish to move to a monthly discussion with email support in between sessions. Once our initially agreed number of coaching sessions have run their course, I will work flexibly to accommodate your requirements.

All coaching sessions are completely confidential, for more information please refer to my privacy policy.
